Chattanooga, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is holding a Town Hall meeting with Representative Eric Watson (R—Cleveland) tomorrow to discuss human trafficking in Tennessee with members of the local community, law enforcement and non-profit organizations. The discussion is being hosted by the City of Chattanooga Office of Multicultural Affairs. The media as well as members of the public are invited to attend the event that will be held at the Development Resource Center. In 2011, the TBI released the first-ever statewide study on the presence of human sex trafficking and its impact on children who are victimized and the criminals who run trafficking operations in Tennessee, in response to a public chapter enacted by the General Assembly in 2010. The study found that human trafficking in Tennessee is more prevalent than previously thought.
