Jackson, Tenn. –The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation this week arrested a former McNairy County, Tenn. jail administrator on theft and misconduct charges after he was indicted by the McNairy County grand jury on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012.
Doug King, 30, of Selmer, Tenn. was indicted on one count of theft of property between $1,000 to $10,000, two counts of official misconduct, and one count of tampering with evidence after the 25thJudicial District Attorney’s office requested a TBI investigation into allegations of missing funds at the department in August of 2012. King was fired in August 2012 after admitting to a TBI agent he took cash from the booking cash machine at the McNairy County Sheriff’s Department. The investigation revealed approximately $8,500 was taken from the jail between January and August of 2012.
King was booked into the McNairy County Jail on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 and released on a $5,000 bond.
