ALAMO – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and officers from numerous agencies across West Tennessee has resulted in the arrest of an Alamo man in connection to a homicide in Crockett County.
At the request of 28th District Attorney General Garry Brown, Thursday, TBI Agents joined Crockett County deputies and officers with the Alamo Police Department in investigating the death of Mary Finch. She was found deceased inside her home in the 300 block of Bells Street in Alamo.
Leslie Earl Carter (DOB: 2/14/67) was developed as a suspect and was believed to have driven the victim’s 2014 Chevrolet Cruze from the scene. Thursday evening, Agents secured a warrant for Carter’s arrest on a count of First Degree Murder. Carter was apprehended without incident early Friday morning in Lauderdale County with the assistance of the Ripley Police Department and Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office. He was booked into the Crockett County Jail on counts of First Degree Murder and Theft of Property. He is being held without bond pending his first court appearance.
