The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation seeks interested and qualified candidates for the following position:


Memphis Crime Lab: 2 vacancies are available in the Forensic Biology (DNA) Unit.
Nashville Crime Lab: 8 vacancies are available – 1 positions in CODIS (DNA Database), 2 positions in the Forensic Biology (DNA) Unit, 2 positions in Latent Prints, 1 position in Microanalysis, and 2 positions in Toxicology.
Knoxville Crime Lab: 3 vacancies are available – 1 position in Drug Chemistry and 2 positions in Toxicology.


Responsible for analyzing physical evidence submitted to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for the presence of DNA and/or body fluids such as blood, semen, and saliva; and composes technical laboratory reports describing the results of tests. Uses and maintains advanced scientific instrumentation. Consults with criminal court attorneys, and testifies in local, state, and federal courts on the results of forensic analysis. Serves as a consultant to law enforcement investigators across the state. Responsible for crime scene investigation requiring 24/7 on-call status on a rotating basis.


Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, mathematics, or other natural or physical sciences; medical technology; forensic science, criminalistics, or other forensic related areas; including a minimum of thirty-six quarter hours in chemistry. DNA Applicants must also have completed additional coursework in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, and Statistics.

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE $3,777 – $5,860
