NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation last evening captured its most recent addition to the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted list.
TBI, U.S. Marshals and Metro Police captured Jeffrey Lynn Carter, 32, at approximately 5:30 p.m. at 823 Denson Street in Madison after he was on the lamb for three days. Carter was wanted by the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) for escape. On August 11, 2013, Carter was working on a Tricor dairy farm when he left work detail at approximately 7:00 p.m. Carter jumped from a tractor he was driving and ran into a wooded area. He was serving a 21 year sentence at the Bledsoe County Correctional Complex for convictions in Davidson County for aggravated robbery with qualifying priors and attempted aggravated robbery. After Carter was apprehended he was transported to the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution and could face an additional five years in prison.
TDOC Agents along with the U.S. Marshal’s Middle Tennessee Fugitive Task Force, Metropolitan Nashville Police, TBI, THP, and the Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department combined efforts and resources to search for and subsequently capture Jeffrey Carter.
