NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today arrested a former Springfield police officer for domestic assault after he was indicted by the Robertson County grand jury earlier this month.
David Alton Hyde, 31, of Springfield, was indicted on one count of domestic assault after an incident with his ex-wife on June 16, 2013. While the victim was taking the couple’s child to deliver a Father’s Day gift to Hyde, he refused to accept the gift and an argument ensued. During the confrontation, Hyde forcefully and intentionally knocked down the victim. She suffered injuries to the back of her head requiring medical treatment. The 19th Judicial District Attorney General requested TBI to investigate the incident. Hyde was terminated from his position at the Springfield Police Department.
Hyde was booked into the Robertson County Jail on $2,500 bond.
