Chattanooga, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a Chattanooga man on drug charges last Friday after a search warrant was executed on his residence which resulted in the discovery of drugs, weapons and a dog fighting operation.
Jackie Marcellus Sawyer, 41, of Chattanooga, was charged with possession of cocaine for resale, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. TBI was executing a narcotics search warrant at Sawyer’s residence located at 6302 Talladega Avenue on May 24, 2013, which led to the discovery of numerous pit bulls, a fight ring, treadmill, and blood in the home as well as drugs and weapons. McKamey Animal Services was called to investigate the dog fight operation. The Chattanooga DEA HIDTA, Chattanooga Police Department, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and 11th Judicial District Attorney General’s Office are also involved in the investigation.
Sawyer was booked into the Hamilton County Jail and released on bond over the weekend.
