TBI and 24th JD Drug Task Force arrest 18 people in West Tennessee for illegally selling prescription pills, marijuana and cocaine

Jackson, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the 24^th Judicial Drug Task Force and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department held a round-up this morning and arrested 18 Henry, Benton and Carroll County residents charged with various drug offenses after a multi-county, joint investigation. The Huntingdon Police Department also contributed to the investigation.

The joint investigation, which began in June 2012, targeted individuals selling controlled substances in and around Carroll County. The Carroll County defendants were indicted by the Carroll County grand jury on May 6, 2013 and the Henry County and Benton County residents had warrants issued for their arrest. All are charged for selling illegal drugs in the undercover operation which recovered marijuana, cocaine and prescription pills.

TBI, the 24^th Judicial District Drug Task Force, TennCare – OIG and Tennessee Highway Patrol as well as the Benton, Carroll, Decatur and Henry County Sheriff’s Departments and Huntingdon Police Department all had officers and agents who assisted making today’s arrests.
