Nashville, Tenn. – On Saturday April 27, 2012, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will have a collection point at TBI Headquarters in Nashville, Tenn. to participate in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The free event will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm for those who have missed previous events or accumulated expired, unused and unwanted prescription medications.
The public is welcome to drop off prescription drugs for safe disposal which would otherwise be potentially dangerous if left in a medicine cabinet. During five previous drop off events, 2 million pounds of prescription medication were taken out of circulation nationally. This initiative addresses a public health and safety issue to help prevent the diversion and the improper disposal of prescription drugs. People can drop off unwanted drugs anonymously by going to TBI Headquarters located at:
901 R.S. Gass Boulevard
Nashville, Tenn.
