Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation yesterday arrested and charged a current Sumner County Jail inmate for attempting to have someone killed while being held behind bars on drug charges. The subject was indicted by the Sumner County grand jury on one count of solicitation of first degree murder.

Frederick Lee Dietz, 63, of Hendersonville was served with the charges in jail yesterday. In October 2012, information was received that Dietz was attempting to have a witness in his drug case murdered. He also made comments to associates not to interfere in the murder plot. The 18th Judicial District Attorney General requested TBI to investigate shortly after the plot was foiled.

Dietz remains at the Sumner County Jail on $250,000 bond.

Dietz
