Applications are being accepted for three positions as TBI Special Agent-Forensic Scientist in the state’s crime laboratories.

Job duties

TBI Special Agent-Forensic Scientist 1 positions are available in Nashville, Knoxville, and Memphis.  All positions will be assigned to DNA/Serology units in one of our laboratories. An employee in this class performs a variety of moderately complex chemical, physical, and biological tests in analyzing and comparing evidence collected at a crime scene and from suspects.

Minimum qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in chemistry, mathematics, or other natural or physical science; medical technology; forensic science, criminalistics, or other forensic related areas; including a minimum of 36 quarter hours in chemistry. DNA positions also request at least one undergraduate or graduate course in each of the following: molecular biology/molecular genetics, biochemistry, genetics, and statistics/population genetics.

Salary: $3,613 – $5,600
