Memphis, Tenn. –The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation charged a Ripley, Tenn. man with murder over the weekend after being called to investigate the death of a man found shot to death outside his home the morning of Friday, October 12, 2012.
Shunn Marques Jones, 19, of Trey Lane in Ripley, Tenn. was charged with one count of first degree murder for the death of Courtney Denzel Johnson, 24, of 145 Gabrielle Cove, Ripley, Tenn. TBI agents responded to the scene to investigate the shooting Friday and determined the victim and subject were acquaintances. Johnson’s body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy. Jones was booked into the Lauderdale County Justice Complex. The investigation is continuing and Jones could face additional charges at a later date.
